Composer/multi-instrumentalist Rob Teehan is a musically adventurous spirit. He has soloed to roaring cheers in Europe as a member of Lemon Bucket Orchestra, played in the acclaimed Heavyweights Brass Band, gigged in Saidah Baba Talibah's band (alongside Prince guitarist Donna Grantis) and has created string quartet mash-ups with DJ Skratch Bastid (that work premiered last month). His composing chops are now vividly showcased on his debut full-length solo record Come Home. The cinematic vibe on the all-instrumental disc is by design, as Teehan explains: "Since I started writing music, I dreamed of creating beautifully crafted, emotionally complex film scores. Realizing that dream was the source of inspiration for this album. I made room in my schedule to focus on composing and plan my move to Los Angeles, and the songs flowed.” Of note: Teehan was selected for the highly competitive Slaight Music Residency at the Canadian Film Centre (2013-2014), and he has already scored short and feature-length films.

Teehan and a 9-piece orchestra launched the disc with a show at Toronto's Lula Lounge earlier this week.
